History of Sarah Murray Lewis Chapter DAR

Sarah Murray Lewis Chapter, NSDAR, Warm Springs, Virginia was organized November 6, 1977, with 29 members.

Mrs. Robert D. Metheny of Millboro, Virginia, was organizing regent. The chapter was named in honor of Sarah Murray Lewis, wife of Col. Charles Lewis.

The membership is composed of residents of Bath, Highland, and Augusta counties, and persons whose roots and interests are in those counties.

We are an active chapter with activities focused on the varied goals of DAR. We are focusing on items related to the national theme of "Preserve the Past, Enhance the Present, Invest in the Future."

Please come join us and enjoy the rich history, the friendship, and the meaningful activities that make us the Sarah Murray Lewis Chapter of the DAR! We welcome you and look forward to hearing from you very soon.
